Long time, no blog! Things have been crazy. I’ve started my first year of teaching, & oh yeah… my husband and I have had some big news…
Yes, Baby Pattillo is due May 8! News has only been out for about a week, but our baby has already been loved on like crazy! We have been so blessed already with prayers, encouragement, & congratulations! I am SO excited about having a baby and being a mom. I am excited about all of the cute baby things, getting to pick a name, and all of the other fun things that come along with a new baby.
All of these things are GREAT, but do you know what I am most excited about, though? I am the MOST excited about getting to share Jesus with this baby! Ever since my husband and I found out we were pregnant we began praying for our baby’s salvation. Every day, we pray that our baby will come to know Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior and that our baby will grow up to be a person that not only is a disciple of Jesus, but one who makes disciples of Jesus.
Deuteronomy 6 commands parents to disciple their children. Also, God commands all Christians in Genesis 1:28 to “fill the earth & subdue it.” Basically, this means to fill the world with worshippers of Jesus Christ! At this stage in my life, this verse means to fill the world with children who love Jesus who will grow up into adults of love Jesus. I know everyone isn’t at this stage, so what does this all mean for you? If you don’t have children, you can still fill the world with worshippers. There are tons of people around you who don’t know Jesus! You can fulfill this command along with the Great Commission and Acts 1:8 by sharing the Gospel. Share the Gospel with those around you and let the Holy Spirit work through you to fill the world with worshippers of Jesus! Disciple and do life with other Christians around you. Jesus commands it, and it will probably bless you more than it will them!
Obviously, my baby is someone that Jesus is putting in my life to share the Gospel with. However, I am also praying that Jesus will put other people in my path to share Him with. I challenge you to pray the same thing. If you have children, disciple them and share Jesus with them! If not, that’s okay! Jesus is putting many other people in your path who need Him just as much! Pray that He will open your eyes to the opportunities He has put in your path so that you may share Jesus with others!
